• What do I need to do to be eligible for (and keep )the Peoria Promise Scholarship?:

• Live in the Peoria City limits, attend, and graduate from a public school.
  Please note you can have a Peoria address and not be eligible for Peoria Promise; you can have a Dunlap address and be eligible. Though not funded through any taxes, eligibility is based on whether you pay City of Peoria Property Taxes.
  
• Apply to ICC (www.icc.edu): by April 1 if you are attending ICC starting with the fall semester or by September 15 if you are attending ICC starting with the spring semester.
  
• Apply for the Peoria Promise scholarship (and other scholarships) by going to www.icc.edu/scholarships between January 15 and April 1 if you are attending ICC starting with the fall semester or between June 1 and September 15 if you are attending ICC starting with the spring semester. ** Please note you must check the Peoria Promise box on the application to be eligible for the Peoria Promise Scholarship. You must apply for the Peoria Promise scholarship each year.
  
• Apply for and complete the FAFSA (www.fafsa.ed.gov): by May 1 (earlier in the year if possible) if you are attending ICC starting with the fall semester; by September 15 if you are attending ICC starting with the spring semester. You must apply for FAFSA each year.
  
• Once you complete the ICC and Peoria Promise applications, you will receive a letter from ICC confirming the number of years you were in the public school system. If you question the Length of Attendance benefit (please see the FAQ’s for explanation of Length of Attendance benefit), contact the superintendent’s office of your school district immediately. If a change is to be made, the district office will contact ICC.
  
• Complete the Academic Placement Test. Call to arrange a test time at any of these locations.

• Make an appointment for advisement to discuss your future plans and build a class schedule. East Peoria: 309-694-5281

• Enroll in classes! Enroll early to secure the classes and schedule you want.
• Write and send a thank you letter by July 1 if you are attending ICC starting with the fall semester; by November 1 if you are attending ICC starting with the spring semester. If you do not write an acceptable letter, you will lose your scholarship for the academic year. You must write a thank you letter each year.
• If you are chosen for financial aid verification (for missing, incorrect, or additional information), you must supply the information requested within 2 weeks of receiving the letter from ICC, even if you suspect you are not eligible for any financial aid, or you will lose your scholarship.
• Attend all your classes, attain a minimum 2.0 or better GPA each term of enrollment and complete 67% of your classes with a grade of a C or higher.
